As a guideline, if the fan noise becomes louder than when you first bought it, you might want to consider that it's "probably nearing the end of its lifespan."
Do you think replacing it every two years is a waste? But wouldn't you consider it cheap if it protects your valuable PS4 or gaming PC for two years for just a few thousand yen?
Also, cooling fans tend to accumulate dust, so don't forget to regularly remove dust with an air duster or similar.
If dust accumulates, the cooling effect will drop sharply, and it won't be able to protect your valuable PS4 or PC.
